Test; Can Mobile Billboard Advertising Sell More Computers?
If you read the article about a fictional brand, you already know that
mobile billboard advertising can take a brand new name from zero to known. But, what about a company that already
exists and advertises? Can mobile billboard advertising make a difference?
Computer marketer PeoplePC commissioned an independent study to determine the effectiveness of mobile billboard
advertising to find out.
In the benchmark study, conducted by National Family Opinion, researchers compared the response of participants
exposed campaign for PeoplePC. One group was exposed to advertising via print, broadcast, and traditional outdoor ads.
The other group was exposed to the same ad campaign - plus mobile billboard advertising.
The truckside advertising campaign generated a 30 percent increase in awareness. Even more so, the study revealed
that 52 percent of people in the target demographic reported an increased awareness of the entire campaign as a
result of seeing the mobile billboard (truckside) ads.
All in all, the mobile billboard advertising campaign yielded a 54 percent increase in the number of people
that considered PeoplePC when buying their next computer.
